Incident Happened With Martyr Sandeep Unnikrishnan

On November 26, 2008, Lashkar-e-Taiba and other Islamic extremist groups in Mumbai, India entered several prominent buildings including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, and Oberoi Trident Nariman House, and took people hostage. 

To rescue those hostages, the 51 Special Action Group (51 SAG) led by Sandeep Unnikrishnan was sent to the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Sandeep fellow commando Sunil Kumar Yadav was also taken hostage by the terrorists. 

While fighting the attackers, Sandeep was shot in the left hand and injured but despite this, Sandeep made tireless efforts to save people from the trap of the hostages. And ultimately, Sandeep Unnikrishnan was martyred due to being severely injured.
